The following exhibitors received project support from FHW in 2015/16 for their 'Welsh Film' screenings/events:

Welsh & Archive project support:

  • Caught by the River Teifi - the festival showed selection of Welsh films including welsh archive titles and held a film focus on director, Keiron Evans, screening a selection of his films including Kelly + Victor and Vashti Bunyan: From Here to Before.
  • Borderlines Festival of British Cinema - the festival this year included a programme of Welsh films including new release titles Black Mountain Poets and Welsh language film The Passing. 
  • Wyeside Arts Centre - screening films as part of a celebration of the Welsh language and culture, titles include Sleep Furiously, Resistance, We the Mountain We the Sea, and My Little Sister (Who Happens to have Downs Syndrome)

Welsh & Archive single screening:

On 25th January a number of our members joined us in celebrating Santes Dwynwen 2016 with screenings of Welsh Love films and shorts. 

  • Chapter and Neuadd Dwyfor  hosted screenings of the Academy Award nominated Welsh film Solomon a Gaenor starring Ioan Gruffudd and Nia Roberts.
  • Penarth Pier Pavilion held a romantic meal and screening of Resistance 
  • Pontardawe Arts Centre  screened Rhosyn a Rhith with cawl, a twmpath and a Q&A from actor Dafydd Hywel
