Watch Africa

Watch Africa launced in 2013 to explore African cinema. In 2014 their programme covered 7 venues across Wales, from Swansea (South Wales) to Tywyn (Mid Wales) and Bethesda in North-Wales. The Watch African Festival based on last year's success has seen it move from the modest University lecture halls to working with established independent cinemas across Wales and bringing a taste of African cinema to more venues across Wales.

From early October 2014 to December 2014, Watch-Africa brought the ‘South Africa at 20: The Freedom Tour’ to our audiences in Wales. With panel discussion, Q&As, workshops, music as well as arts and crafts; as well as variety of film genres from animations to documentaries, feature length films to silent films performed with a live score, the festival is proud to bring a series of African festivity to Wales and give a real taste of Africa through films.
