The Danish Girl

'The Danish Girl' is a 2015 romantic drama film directed by Tom Hooper, based on the 2000 fictional novel of the same name by David Ebershoff, and loosely inspired by the lives of Danish painters Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Elbe, one of the first known recipients of sex reassignment surgery and also stars Alicia Vikander, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. The film was also nominated the BAFTA Award for Best British Film.

The film is being screened as part of a series by CCHA in celebration of LGBT History Month, which includes 'God's Own Country' on February 22.

Screenings are free and no booking is required.

Certificate 15. No under 15's will be admitted.
