Into Film is the BFI’s lead partner in film education. Their visionary programme is a UK-wide initiative to give 5-19 year-olds the opportunity to watch, make and understand film.
They support teachers and educators to achieve a wide range of effective learning outcomes in their use of film. Their programme includes a network of extra-curricular Into Film Clubs, resources for use in film clubs and in the classroom, training opportunities, a cinema-based film festival and our annual Into Film Awards. It has been designed to meet the needs of all four nations in the UK.
Into Film’s Mission
To inspire dynamic ways of learning with film and connecting with cinema that reach the widest possible young audience across the UK.
Into Film’s Vision
That film is at the heart of every child and young person’s educational, cultural and personal development.
More than half of UK schools engage with our programme of Into Film Clubs, special cinema screenings, resources and training to support classroom teaching. Alongside rich online content for young audiences, we provide 5-19 year olds with inspiring opportunities to learn about and with film, and develop a passion for cinema.
