American Interior

SYNOPSIS

In 1792, John Evans, a farmhand from Snowdonia travelled to America to discover whether there was a Welsh-speaking Native American tribe walking the Great Plains. Over two hundred years later, distant relative Gruff Rhys retraces the explorer’s route through the continent by means of an Investigative Concert Tour. A unique project that blurs the boundaries of music, literature and film and investigates what really happened in the heart of the new world.

Reviews

“A hugely charming and visually gorgeous film. American Interior comes not to bury Evans but to praise his spirit of heroically romantic myth-making, fighting for the big dreams of small nations.” – Stephen Dalton, The Hollywood Reporter

“One of the most superb culture based documentaries in recent history” –  James Rush, Tastic Film

“It’s high entertainment…like Mark Twain gone multimedia” – Nigel Andrews, FT Weekend
