Judas and the Gimp

Written by Francis, while living in New York City alongside Central Park. instead of writing a story about the Guggenheim, designed by Welsh-American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, he found himself writing a three-part story called Judas and the Gimp. Francis was inspired by a story he had written in which the Rhondda Valley was painted. The story tells of how very poor Welsh people funded much poorer people in the African country Zambia. Drawing from with poverty of Harlem and Washington Heights which had seen first-hand. That was to visit homes where heavy-handed rent collectors went. The Gimp was a real character in Wales, portrayed by Karl Johnson, along with the up-and-coming Rhys Ifans and the successful Donna Edwards
