Film Hub Wales and Chapter are hugely excited to present Scratch ‘n Sniff Matilda!

44 UK screenings confirmed and more to come.

Matilda is the tale of an extraordinary little girl with magical powers, her horrible parents, a kindly teacher and a monstrous headmistress. Matilda decides to teach the adults that every child is extra-special, and that wicked people will always be punished. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book, this movie adaptation by director and actor Danny DeVito also stars Mara Wilson as Matilda, Rhea Perlman, Pam Ferris and Embeth Davidtz. 2016 celebrates the 20th anniversary of this much-loved family film with a newly restored print from Sony Pictures, coinciding with the Roald Dahl 100 celebrations, marking 100 years since the birth of one of the world’s greatest storytellers.

Audience members will receive a scratch card with 10 exciting odours which will bring Matilda to life. These remain a surprise until the screening!
Scratch ‘n Sniff Cinema presents, is an occasional series from producer and artist Bren O’Callaghan working with illustrator Simon Misra, who have previously scored scent accompaniments to The Wicker Man (BFI Gothic season, UK tour 2014), The Goonies (Cornerhouse 25th Birthday), The Company of Wolves (AND Festival, Grizedale Forest), My Beautiful Laundrette (HUB Festival, Salford) and Gregory’s Girl (Edinburgh Festival Fringe).
